Maps showing cycle routes and distances

  • The average speed for the average cyclist is around 6 – 8 miles an hour which means that journeys under 2 miles should only take about 10 – 15 mins. Glenrothes, Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy all have over 20 miles (35km) of traffic free routes, the maps below give a rough guide to distances involved in cycling within these towns:

Glenrothes with 1 and 1.5 miles radius circles

Glenrothes – Woodside to Fife College/Michael Woods sports ctre (1.5 miles)

Glenrothes – Stenton to Fife College/Michael Woods sports ctre/Town Centre(1.5 miles and 2 miles)

 Dunfermline with 1 and 1.5 miles radius circles 

Dunfermline – Pitcorthie/Dover Heights to Fife College and Fife Leisure Park (2 miles)

Dunfermline – Whitefield Road to Town Centre and Dunfermline Town Station (1.5 and 1.7 miles)

 Kirkcaldy with 1 and 1.5 miles radius circles 

Kirkcaldy – Chapel to Mitchelston Ind Estate (2.5 miles)

Kirkcaldy – Invertiel to Ravenscraig Park (2 miles)

Traffic free routes around Fife

Tay Bridge to Tayport – 2 miles

Culross to Kincardine – 4 miles

Burntisland to Aberdour – 2 miles

West Fife Way – 10 miles (Dunfermline to Clackmannan)
