May’s Taycoasters ride will start at 1.30 on Sunday the 26th at the car park at the south access to the Tay Road Bridge. We will be heading out along the nature trail to Balmerino Abbey. This is a very ancient building, now in ruins, but with a great deal of history attached. There is no charge for admission, but there is a box for donations. There are no cafes or shops in Balmerino, so we suggest you either have lunch before you join us or bring a snack and a drink to have while we take or break at the Abbey. Some of the route is hilly, but the steepest hills are short and we don’t mind if you get off and push your bike up them. We will ride a small circle round Balmerino and then return to the bridge by the same route. The total distance is about 14 miles and we aim to be back at the bridge by 5.00.
We hope you can join us – and feel free to invite your friends.
